My marketing career began in FMCG. as product manager for a food distribution company, when digital marketing wasn’t even a thing! Email was just beginning to be used as a communication tool in business and company websites, if they even existed, were simple brochures. In the late 1990s, web started to emerge as a possible marketing channel. I was working as Brand manager for a fast-growing hotel group, and with hotels opening every few months, we needed all the sales channels we could get! I saw an opportunity to start selling our rooms through our own website. So, I convinced my boss to invest in an ecommerce enabled website and my passion for digital marketing was ignited!

The Story so far….From Marketer to Educator

Having spent 20 years working in marketing across a range of industries including FMCG, Hospitality, Travel Tech and marketing consultancy, my career in marketing came to a pause in 2018. I took some time out and decided to follow another passion of mine and become an educator. Teaching was a career that I had considered before and I always enjoyed running training courses and mentoring others in my consultancy role. Having completed a post graduate diploma in Further Education in 2020, I am now working as a tutor in Rathmines College, teaching marketing, digital marketing, sales and marketing and IT modules at QQI Levels 5 and 6.
